I love the way your foul little mind works ;) While I believe the complexity of this swap is significant, it would be the coolest thing around if you can make it work.

My initial thoughts:
- Are you SURE there's room for the engine?
- Don't bother with the E24 tranny, swap in a 6-speed while you're at it, even if it's more work.
- What about electronics? How much of the engine's management system will be screwed up because it looses a bunch of connections? Do you or someone you know have expert knowledge of the electronics to make it work? (If so, I'd like their contact info, because I'd like to put a V12 in a street rod).

Anyway, my two cents. Good luck!

I own an E24 635csi. We have decided to install a BMW 12 cylinder. So I am seeking information and leads on a great engine investment.

The big tech question: Has anyone seen a 12 cylinder attached to a E24 five speed? Anyone have any thoughts?

MD 20/20.

That's why they call me Mad Dog
