Is there a way to quickly visually differentiate between a normal 750il and a 750il Protection? I've seen pictures of one silver 750il Protection that had 10-spoke wheels, and it had black body-cladding on the bottom couple of inches all around the car. Is that a unique characteristic of a Protection model?

To answer my own question, since almost all I got were wisecracks - the 10-spoke wheels indicate run-flat tires, which is standard on the Protection models but is an available option for all 7-series models. The black-cladding is nothing special. But there are a couple of distinguishing characteristics - if the front windows are partially rolled down you will see a steel frame around the window pane itself. If the rear windows are rolled down, then you know it is not a Protection model because they don't go down, and if you can see the VIN tag, the listed GVR weight of a normal 750il is 5655 lbs and for a 750il Protection model it is closer to 5900 lbs.
