i have had the same problems with mine for 3 months now. the car has died on me ubruptly in the middle of the freeway for no apparent reason. Then when i get towed to my house and wake up the following day, the car starts and runs like nothing happened the previous day. No doubt this is a great machine but these days they don't make em like they used to.... no offence BMW... even the world class auto manufacturers like Germans have totally lost it. The stupid people built faulty cars , ship them across the atlantic ocean, then charge you $80k plus for piece of shit and they would not even post general info about faulty engines like the nikasil problem to inform and protect consumers worst of all they will profusely deny any assistance with such problems despite failing to post issues like this on their website... honestly, BMW better watch out and clean up their act, they are not going to be on top of luxury vehicles market if they keep having a declining rep with their customers ... especially with hot new cars coming into the market like infinti Q45 and the lexus GS 430 (only afew more years of fine tuning and soon German auto makers will be left to face the music... perhaps sing the blues
(ps: i think the c.e.o of BMW should be reading this)
Actually the service manager has said that she would do her best to help us with the trade in deal if we bought a new one.....which at this point we are considering - I just hate to buy a new one only to have something similar happen to us again - even if it's just minor problems this time around.
Add to that the fact that the new model will be out real soon now.....
I'm really torn between ideas. I've even seriously considered trading it for an S430.
