These types of bugs are accepted in Windows 3.1,95,98,Me,NT,2000, but not in a car.

I had similar symptoms once in my car. The volume of the radio went really quiet - depressing the steering wheel button or turning the knob made it louder, but as soon as I stopped pressing the button / turning the knob it dropped back to a barely audible level. Stopping the engine (thus turning off the audio system) and then restarting the car fixed it.

Note that I've owned this car for years, and this has only happened once - yours could be a different problem if you only had yours for an hour.
