Nadeem,
I was told that in Europe the E38 740i had the option of a 6 Speed. A BMW Master Tech named Bill mentioned it when I was exploring the possibility of converting my 7er to a manual transmission. He had to use the Euro Parts Spec. inorder to estimate the cost.

BTW It turned out to be 3 pages of parts @ $9,200.00 & 4 days labor. This did not include a custom drive shaft nor the trim piece for the console shifter boot.
