Byron is absolutely right - correct operation of the phone should not even be an issue for a $70k car. Embedded programming of this nature does not require genius, just good software engineering practices - it is not like the phone is a missile targetting system or anything extraordinarily complex.
Everytime someone acts like owning a car is like belonging to the design team ("woo-hoo team 740!") and gets all defensive about legitimate criticisms, I just have to laugh. You may prefer that your accessories be broken and incomplete - in which case you should refrain from installing any software or hardware fixes, from a TSB, or otherwise. But don't tell others who prefer that their cars work right to love-it-or-leave.
