I apologize to both Byron and Jah-Wren for my emotional remark re Byron's TimePort comments. I too have a new 740iL with the TimePort system. I am still reading and learning what this system will do, so I was disappointed to hear that call waiting and extension dialing features have shortcomings. My euphorea for my car is still high so I guess I am just sensitive.
As automobiles get more integrated, interactive systems on board, companies like BMW (car guys) will have a harder time making all the toys work together and survive in the motor vehicle environment.
Sorry, Byron and Jah-Wren.
Dean

It takes a lot of fortitude to own up to over-reacting like that on the net - certainly more than it took to flame you for it, so your apology is heartily accepted and I apologize for the "Team 740" crack, no rice here, maybe some schnitzel though...

As for Byron's original intent, I think the best he can hope for is that someone here posts the contact information for a BMW manager in the quality control or test departments so that Byron can send his findings directly to someone at BMW who both cares and is in a position to do something to fix the problems.

I doubt that such an individual has the time to read this forum regularly enough to actually see Byron's original message.
