I have the Parts and Service repair CD ROMS for the car, and there are some photos in the repair manual that show the sound insulation which is inside the doors. If the repair guys did not reinstall this at all, or if it is not properly sealed, or has a tear, then the sound insulation properties would be compromised. This is a panel that is located behind the trim and inside the door cavity. It should be one piece that is sealed to the metal door frame. I will copy the photo of it and attach a link for you to see what they look like. If you know how to remove the inner trim panels, you should be able to inspect the sound insulation panel. If you don't know how to do that, repost to ask, and I or many others can give you the steps.
