747 - I agree. What SHOULD BE kept in perspective is that a $70,000 vehicle, with all of its accompanying gadgetry (made by whomever), should function PERFECTLY!! The fact is that this phone CANNOT be bought for hundreds of dollars or cheaper because it's part of the vehicle! And so is the cost of the phone's price part of the vehicle selling price. Sure, I can buy a Motorola Timeport phone a lot cheaper. Maybe for free! BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE THE BMW SOFTWARE MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR OUR CARS!! Tell me where I can buy this phone made for an '01 740i Sport that functions 100% with the BMW software for the prices you claim?? Thank You.
