I took delivery of my 2000 740i in March 2000 and it was the last 2000 that they were shipped. Within 4 weeks, they started taking delivery at my dealer with the new 2001 model. The first thing I noticed was the 16x9 screen on the very first vehicle to show up at the dealer.

I would check this out. I was under the impression that the 16x9 came in all 2001 models. Are you sure this isn't a 2000 model with clear lens?

I bought my car used after being owned for two months, so I didn't have a choice in the NAV screen. I didn't mind buying used, the other guy took a beating with depreciation. The down side is that I couldn't choose a few of the particulars.
NAV screen? My 01' 740i SP has the 16:9 aspect
ration NAV.

The dealer says that the NAV screen changed on the cars they recieved during 2001. Some were 4:3, some were 16:9. I also checked out the production date and delivery date to dealer. It is a 2001.
