No such thing as a dumb question, just sometimes dumb engineering. But in this case it's really a user friendly location.
It's on the right front side of the engine compartment as you STAND looking at the engine bay. It's a round structure that you can hand crank open. Very easy, just pop in & out, just remember to change the rubber gasket O-ring also.



I hate to sound too dumb, but just where is the oil filter? I changed the oil and filter on my old 525 with ease, but I don't have the foggiest idea where the filter and drain plug is on my 99 740..?

I dropped the trap door underneath but didn't see filter or drain plug..
