I'd recommend an E23 735i five speed. I drove one for 16 years and it was very very reliable and easy to fix when anything went wrong. Electronics are also uncomplicated, will get about 22 mpg on the highway, will go upward of 130 mph. I just sold it and managed to get $3700 for it with 130K miles, but it was in top condition. The guy who bought it as a second car is absolutely tickled with it, and I can't blame him. Try to get one that was converted to conventional tire size, not the original TRX. A lot of them were converted when trx's became difficult to buy. On the other hand, an Avon Trx tire replacements goes at about $120 apiece, a good V rated tire, so that's not too bad. Otherwise you could run V or H rated Goodrich Comp TA's for about $65 per tire, and these are really very good tires too. Either way, the E23 is one heck of a fine, comfortable performance cruiser.
