If it simply popped off, consider yourself lucky. More common experience is that the neck actually breaks off.


Update to my plight -- the neck did break. It was not immediately noticable because it was only off of it that broke off and was still inside the hose so it was not immediately apparent as to what was going on. Everything was fine with my initial reconnect for a day, then pop it went again. When I looked carefully at the assembly, I could see the section of the neck that was still inside the radiator hose. My temporary fix was to remove the broken piece, install the hose on the remaining neck (about 3/4") and ensure that the clamp was seated around it securely.

The dealer gets the car in a few days to take care of everything. So, I too am a victim of the silly plastic radiator.
