Bilstein HD are softer than Bilstein Sport, but firmer than stock.

T.

I´m about to change shocks on my 740 but have a hard time to choose.

Installed Bilstein Sports on a 530 I owned a couple of years ago. Car handled great but I found them to bumpy as even the smallest imperfections were picked up from the road. On the next car, a 540, I went with the original Sachs/Boge setup, but this was really to soft.

It seems that Bilsteins Sports (for original height -- lowered up to 30mm) and Sprints (for cars lowered up to 60 mm) are identical for E38. This is why I suspect them to be rather firm.

Basically I want a firm damper but with some "comfort zone" to take up the smallest bumps. I do not plan to lower the car at this point.

Adjustable Konis would be on way to go, but they doesn´t seem to be available for E38.

Suggestions/opinions anyone?
