My left door got keyed yesterday. The scratch is deep and
runs about 11 inches long.... It's silver and I heard
it's not easy to match silver paint with the original paint...

I'm in the Washington, DC metro area. I'd appreciate
recommendations for a good/experienced bodyshop.

Check out Heinz and Fritz Kestermann's Foriegn Car Service in the north part of Old Town Alexandria right near the river. They have worked on two BMW's for me - a 320i and presently my 740iL - and always done impeccible work. They do everything from Lamborghini's down to Beetle's and everything in between, so you know they deal with loads of super-picky owners and plenty of regular folks.

They re-did the silver paint my 77 BMW R100/7 motorcycle, so I know their paint shop rocks. Look for them under Foreign Car Service on Bashford Lane in Alexandria.
