Wagon Works in Alexandria, just down the street for BMW of Arlington (formerly Heishman's) did an outstanding job on my old Bronzit Beige 325iC. They aren't cheap and usually have to wait several weeks for an appointment, but they do nice work. Just look at the assortment of Bimmers, Mercs, and Porsches out front.

There's a shop in Manassas called Auto Crafters. This guy is known as a perfectionist. I've been told he's the best, but also expensive, hard to get a hold of, and takes a long time.

I've also heard good things about ColorCrafter's in Maryland.

My left door got keyed yesterday. The scratch is deep and
runs about 11 inches long.... It's silver and I heard
it's not easy to match silver paint with the original paint...

I'm in the Washington, DC metro area. I'd appreciate
recommendations for a good/experienced bodyshop.

Thank you very much!

Tim
