I don't know about the voice control, but the Xenon's can be retrofitted with no problem. You need to have the control module reprogrammed to accept the different load presented by the Xenons in order to avoid error messages, but the conversion is straight forward. I'm surprised your dealer tells you that it can't be done.

Hi all,

I just bought a new 7 in the UK... I had a silver one, this time gone for black... bigger engine, few more gadgets etc.. I looked at Jags, sports cars and was about to sign but woke up in the middle of the night KNOWING I'd miss the 7 series too much (how sad is that? :-)

Anyway, I bought one that had already been made but hadnt been sold.. so the spec was fixed and no xenon headlights.

The dealer is saying that you can't retrofit them? Is this absolutely true or is it possible?

Same for voice control?

If anyones reading in the UK and can do this, even better? but even if not in the UK I'd like to know if its possible?

ps. A couple of years ago I was reading this forum thinking shall I go for the 7 series or not.. hmmm too big maybe and so on... if anyone is reading this thinking the same, just want to say, the 7 is the best car I've ever had! Everything in the right place, lots of power and just as close to perfect as I could imagine.

Cheers,
Keith
