I'd just as soon think of this conflict in terms of a multi-trillion, multi-decade, continual conflict requiring a continual state of alert. Underneath this umbrella we can stage outright conflicts ("hot wars"), aggressive intelligence gathering, espionage, and defense programs (e.g., the NORAD, SAC, Blackbirds, Berlin airlifts).

Guys, it's gonna be a long, expensive, nasty process, just like the original one was. But we won against Marxists/Leninists/Stalinists (didn't Kruschev predict "we will bury you"?), and we can win this one too.

The world never changes, huh?
