it is logical it is the source of the whistling sound. It may have been dry and the sound stopped as it sucked up enough fuel to fill the tubing and hoses. It also could be a leak in the AC system which has an output vent at the rear of the center console, maybe the sound reflected back to you from passenger seat area, just a thought? Was the AC system on or off , do you recall?
