As mentioned by a previous post, I would get some type of extended warranty on engine damage. Any damage that was done will not show up now but will be in the form of leaky crankshaft seals, cam cover gaskets etc. in the future. Modern engines are compact, there are not that many places for 7 quarts to go without exerting some internal stress . Oil does not compress! If the engine was running fine, i.e., hydraulic lifters were not noisey, than you are more than likely OK.

I would get the issue in front of the local distibutor, so they know about it, know about the dealer, lack of quality control, etc. I have found the Customer Support 800 number to be anything but customer support, and is self serving at best. I do not think I would have any work done at this dealer. If they can not get an oil change right, imagine them doing your brakes! A simple, honest oversight? Where is the Quality assurance?
