James, I would love to meet up with you at some point in the very near future. We can compare 7s. I have a 97 also. You can see if my accelertion is the same, and I think it is, and I can see if your stereo is a POS like mine is. Mine has absolutely no bottom end and no seperation.

I recently purchased a 97 740. I've owned many cars, including a 750, and no others have behaved this way:

From a stop, a shallow to moderate throttle input yields very little accerlation. If I press on the throttle more, the car will get up and go. It's almost like me driving w/ parking brake partailly engaged (I have verifeid that this is not the case). It seems to help just a little in "S" shift mode (although very little).

The car feels heavy until I reach a certain throttle opening. The RPM seems to climb normally. I've adjusted the throttle cable but to no avail.

Any thoughts?
