Forget the DSP system and count your blessings that you don't have it. THe standard non-DSP system is much easier to modify. See my web site link below, and contact me if you want help. I upgraded my system for under $1000 and it rocks!

I have a 1995 740iL with the standard radio with CD changer. I've heard a fair number of complaints about the 7 series lack of bass. I compared mine with a brand new one with DSP. I couldn't tell much difference. It seemed like the DSP had a little more bass at maximal setting, but with some distortion. I also understand that BMW went to a lower quality amp in 1998. Would anyone care to comment on the difference in sound quality between the standard stereo and the DSP equipped stereo?
