A Follow Up

I just ordered the Window Regulator W/O the motor from ThePartsBin.com ($135) W/O regulator motor. Unfortunately the pulley is not sold separately nor is the seperate pieces of the regulator. Whe whole unit is a complete set. I did call various dealers in the area (So. Cal) and lowest price quote was $285 plus tax.

Replacement does not appear to be too difficult. I will post follow-up when job is done.

I had experienced a pop and grinding sound in my front driver window when rolling it up or down as noted in my post a few days ago. It seems to still function properly, however, it needed attention.

I just took the door panel off and noted that a shattered orange colored pully was in several pieces inside the window well. I looked to identify where this may have come from. From what I can tell it appears as if there are four pulleys in which the drive cable wraps around. Two in the bottom of the regulator and I assume two in the top. It appears as if mine is broken on the top towards the rear of the vehicle.

Has anyone experienced this problem. Can just the pulleys be replaced or am I looking at replacing the entire regulator? I assume that the entire window is going to need to come out to replace whatever parts are needed. Is removing the window and working with the regulator a DIY project? Any help and insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
DJ
