The value of the strut bar depends on your situation. It does make a difference, but for street use I'd say it's mostly for looks more than real utility. I'm sure Simeon can verify the improvement it makes in more heavy duty driving as in his rounds on the track on regular occasions. So it depends on you a bit. It's far from a necessity, but I think it's really cool ;)

In terms of installation, it's a real easy job, but I wasn't impressed with the fit of this item. I had to force it a bit to make it fit. Older cars (like my 95') will likely have shifted slightly in the body, which would explain the poor fit on my car, and I haven't heard if this is a common issue with these bars. I had actually thought of producing some nicer/better fitting strut bars for the E38 since there's literally no selection in the market place, but haven't done anything about it so far. There is no rear strut bar available for the E38 as far as I know - and the need isn't so obvious as in the front because of the nature of the rear part of the body, which is much stiffer anyway.

I hope that helps - a bit long answer to a simple question I guess ;) Bavarian Autosport is the only one I found available for the E38 (www.bavauto.com), but there may be others out there.

Good luck, let us know what you decide. I think it's a pretty cool accessory to have.

I was going over your Cardomain web site and noticed that you have the Front strut tower brace installed.

Does that make a big difference in the handling ? Also would you recommend the rear brace as well ?
Also, how difficult is it to install ? Would you recomend that before i get the car lowered ?

Thanks for your input
