I agree the M5 is a magnificent machine, and I too am considering getting one (or a 540i Sport) when the lease ends on my '99 740iL this spring. I like the 7, but have no need for the sheer size. I think the back seat has been occupied about five times in 2 1/2 years. I had a 528i before the 740iL, and enjoyed driving it more than the latter. I think I would be happier in a E39. However, the E65 is still in the cards when I can actually see and drive one. Whoops--better hold off on this decision, as the 7 is the wife's car!

I need as much as you can talk (positively AND negatively) about the M5. I adore my 7, but I also like its devil cousin... I test drove it for the first time today (like 8 hours ago) and I still cannot forget the FEEL of it.
I am very finiky about giving a "certainly positive" remark on a car all-in-all... But I couldn't NOT strike the M5 with magnificent statements all thruout the day ! I was amazed. It was a Le Mans Blue, 2002, 18" //M, Beige Interior.
I remember it was kind of 'bashed' by someone on this board some 3 or 4 months ago when I was least interested in it... But now... oh geez. Im realizing I was so mistaken...
However, I never cease the search for 'look-outs', i guess im a natural-born critic. :) Someone give me negatives on this... if you can't then strike me with the good stuff :)
