$22 sounds about right. Make sure it has a new block. 95's had problems with the sulfur attack on the cylinder liners. If it hasn't had the block replaced stay away from it. The engine replacement warranty was only good for 6 years and probably has expired.

Hi all!
I'm thinking of getting 740il (95-97).
Before I get it, I want ot know what are the common big problems of E38. So I can check it out when I take a look at the car.

I just looked at a 95 740il with every option imaginable (xenon, premium sound w/ 6 CD, rear window electric privacy shades, etc) at a lexus dealership with 63K. They asking $22K - sounds like a great deal - Is this lower than normal for this kind of vehicle
