Go to you nearest BMW dealer (or the one you trust the most) and tell them you have rough idle. Confirm that the extended warranty is still in effect, and ask for the test that is prescribed for this. It's a three part test that "culminates" in a leak-down test if the car fails the previous tests. Try to convince them to do all three tests regardless. MAny cars have failed the leak-down even if they pass the idle quality test (the first test). Remember - you are NOT supposed to pay for the test, they get reimbursed from BMWNA. You may have to pay for the leak-down if your car passes the first test though, but it depends on the dealer. Check link below for more info. Try to get the leak-down test done at any cost. If you're lucky they'll replace the short block for you.

i heard 93-95 bmw 8 cycl have problem with short block. i just purchased the car from my freind and still under warranty. and i feel a lil shake with it's idle.
can someone help regarding this problems.
