I have cleaned mine of most grease and oil as well as dirt with a degreaser and cleaner and cloth rags or paper towels. For some very stubborn stains on the aluminum parts, I have used a stainless steel brush or a brass brush. Another wonderful item I have found is Metal Wadding polish to use on the aliminum parts like the Oil Resevoir and Brake tubing, which makes them shine.
