I think that if you exceed the speed of light you can also go back in time. At least that worked in the Superman movie.

Another alternative would be to go photograph the odometer of a new E38 and tape that over your odometer. See previous board posts for proper adhesive tape and tools reqired. (Be sure to notify your BMW center, BMW warranty carrier and the NHTSA about the odometer tampering though. They will probably be interested in helping you.)

Either should work well for this common concern amongst E38 owners.
