I purchased my first BMW, a 98 740 iL on eBay, from a used car dealer in Houston. Paid $35.5K, it had 42,000 miles, and was in near perfect condition. The interior looks absolutely new, the exterior has only minor paint weathering, very minimal. I feel like I got a good deal. The car was represented with LOTS of high res photos, and the dealer had a great feedback profile. They were only 270 miles from me, so I flew there on SW Airlines and drove the car home. Easy transaction. Would do it again. Good luck.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience on buying a car on eBay. The prices are lower than the dealer's by far. But what about caveat emptor? The thought of flying halfway across the country to find a mis-repesented cheap vehicle doesn't appeal to me very much. However, if some companies are getting clean cars at auction coming off lease, then maybe this is a cost-effective way to purchase one. Thanks.
