I got a 740il (98/nav) on eBay from a couple of guys working out of a nice house in FL. The car was listed as having some it didn't and one bonus none of knew about (100k, 6yr extended BMW warranty). Had a blowout 300 miles from the purchase (rt rear) and the spare was flat and had been driven hard while flat and then put back in the boot (tires may have been switched after sale but before my plane landed, can't say for sure from the pictures, but doubt any BMW owner would have driven it with the ones on it). The car had 77,000 and the auction ended at $26.7. I'm OK with it.
What do you suggest about the missing BMW phone, I want the integration of them although they are kinda pricey huh? Do I try and find a 6000 (hard so far), upgrade to 7000 or 8000? Can anyone remember what is missing from the toolkit (see link pix)? Is there any way to add an aux audio in (mini stereo phono) to the factory system so I can plug in a laptop 400 CD's ripped on it _and_ maintain the integration with nav/phone, etc?
Thanks for any tips from the masters. Great resource this.
