1st I pulled the bottom left wood trim piece off and removed the screw holding that side. Next you need to remove the right hand side buy opening the cup holder to get to that one. You will notice that the bottom is loose but top isn’t.
2nd, I removed the radio via the left & right Allen screws accessed by pivoting the L&R tabs on the radio. I forget what size metric Allen wrench. Pull the radio out & disconnect all connectors. Reach inside & push the DSP radio control out & disconnect the connector. Then pop out the computer & again disconnect all connectors. Do the same with the A/C, seat heaters & ASC. This leaves you with a naked frame.
3rd Remove the wood trim on the upper left where the cruse control switch is by just pulling on it. It will pop off. This will expose the left (2) screws, (1) Philips head & (1) Torx head. Remove both.
4th Open the glove box & remove the (3) screws across the top front. Lower this cover. Now here’s where the fun come in. There are (4) 1” long plastic nuts with a knurled head that you need to unscrew from the backside to remove the dash trim above the glove box. Then you need to remove the wood trim in the same manner (4) plastic nuts again. This will expose the (2) screws on the right side. Remove them, again (1) Philips head & (1) Torx head. Now you can very difficultly remove the aluminum frame that the cup holder is screwed to. There are (2) Philips head screws on both sides holding it on (4 total).
The cup holder I got did not come with the wood trim. You need to remove yours from the old one & install on the new one. I bought mine off ebay, new OEM, for $70. I think they retail for about $140.
Now all you have to do is put everything back together. In all, it took about two hours. I should have taken some pictures but didn’t think to do so. Let me know if you have any questions.
