Kurt - your conclusion is simply WRONG. We have owned: 85'535i / 87' 325is / 87'325i / 2000 740i with sport package / and a brand new 2001 740iL with sport package which was purchased two weeks ago. Clearly, I do not use cup holders to speak of - thus a simple question. Ditto to Richard V also.
