Yes the soenoid is held in by torx screws. The problem I had was not in replacing the solenoid but it was getting the plastic rod that extends up to the fuel door back in the guide once I removed it. I had to feed a pull string through the guide from outside the fuel door then tape the pull string onto the plastic rod with very thin tape to pull the rod back through the guide. You may be able to remove the solenoid with out removing the plastic rod,I just don't remember as it has been awhile since I replaced mine. Hope this helps.

Is the solenoid behind a small panel that is secured by 2 torx screw?
