I've got a 95 740 with a little over 100K miles, block has been replaced as has radiator; tires and brakes are new. The car drives perfectly and looks nearly new. By any reasonable person's standard, it's a "dream car." It meets my driving needs perfectly.

But I still keep thinking about trading it in on a somewhat newer (say maybe 98 or 99) with lower miles, maybe a warranty still in effect (like CPO).

Reason tells me that I'll be spending money (like maybe $10K) to get effectively the same car. Plus, my insurance and registration fees will go up. And I'll spend close to $3K just for taxes and title (assuming I pay around $30K).

Even if I get hit with an unexpected repair bill (even, heaven forbid, the tranny), I'd still be many dollars ahead just by keeping the 95.

So what do you guys think? Should I keep looking at ads, or should I convince myself that I've already got something that's as good as it gets and re-address the issue in a couple of years?
