I am looking at buying a 735il or a 740il. I need to know what I should look for before buying this car. Are these cars more reliable than the E32s. I have heard that the E32s have quite bad electrical problems.

Thanks

If you are looking at a 735(in the US) you are looking at an E32. If you are looking at E38s try to go '96 or newer, 95s had some engine issues. These are complex cars, I doubt the E38 is any better than the 32. My previous '95 740 was in the shop a lot for little problems. My current '98 750 has been in the shop for over two weeks out of the last month. These can be troublesome cars. Buy one with a warranty if you are on any kind of budget. That said, I did buy a second one, they drive better than anything else in their class.
