Folks,

I've got the opportunity to buy a 93 740i. Car has 121K miles and is on the second owner. It has the 4.0 litre V8 which was recalled. Brand new engine was factory installed at 80K, so new motor only has only 40K on it. Is the engine any good? Car has been impeccably well maintained - owned by an auto mechanic. THE CENTRAL QUESTION IS, I AM NOT AN AUTO MECHANIC AND DON'T WANT TO BE RUNNING THIS CAR TO ONE FREQUENTLY. IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD BE AWARE OF WITH RESPECT TO THIS CAR??? AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS?

The owner is asking $14,900 (flexible), but the Blue book is only $11, 500. Car is fully loaded with all toys.
