The tire sizes are ok, but the fronts in particular will give you rather significantly smaller rolling diameter. Optimal sizes would be 255/45 in the front and 275/40 in the rear. The tires on the wheels will work though, it's not critical.
My biggest concern with these wheels are the offsets. THe fronts will be no problem, 12mm offset should work fine with 8,5 width. In the rear, however, 15mm offset is too small, and the wheels will be placed rather far out in the wheel well, and is sure to create rubbing against the fender lip. Note that BMW's own M-paralell 9,5 wheel has an offset of 25mm. When you add another half inch to the width and subtract 10mm from the offset, you're probably going to have problems. I can't say this for sure of course, but it's an educated guess. Unfortunately, you can't use spacers in this case, since the problem is that the wheel will be too far out.
My suggestion if possible: Try the wheels on the car and see how it works. Be particularly careful in the rear.
Hope that helps. Good luck, and keep us posted.

sorry to call you guys out but i have spoken to you in the past and have always been super impressed and grateful for your answers. anyone else who may be able to help, thanks as well!
Hello guys,
I would like to buy the used set of wheels described below. the million dollar question is do they fit my car optimally or am i making a sacrifice to buy used rims (which i don't want to do)?
I own a '99 750IL.
The wheels are: 18" x 8.5" (front)18" x 10" (rear), the front rims have an offset of 12mm (w/ spacers), while the rears have an offset of 15mm. Fronts are 245/40/ZR18 and the rears are 275/35/ZR18.
Any advice would be greatly apprciated.
Thanks again guys!
Luke
