Hey, I was actually thinking of contacting you to ask about the M7 project. Seems this is the potential suject for your activities?

I can't add much to your questions really. Many people have bought off E-bay and have been very happy. If you can inspect the car I think that's very important. In terms of price, I think that will be determined by the auction itself, so you may not have a choice if you want to get the car. HAving been a collision damaged car, the price should probably be well below $20k, perhaps in the vicinity of the $14k you mentioned. You'll have to see how the auction plays out.

Good luck!! :)

Ok, the time has finally come. Im looking at a 96' 740IL with 71,xxx miles. The car is in good shape depite a salvage title. It turns out the front end was hit yet there is no frame damage. All cosmetic damage. All of the pieces were replaced with 2001 parts. The car looks at first appearances like a calypso red 2001 740IL sport. So here are my questions. Am I ok with the 96 model year in general since all engine problems are confined to the 95' model year? What kind of problems should I look for? What do you guys think of purchasing a car through ebay? How much do you think I should pay? I am thinking of making him an offer of $14,000. The link below is the car in question. I look forward to reading your posts.

Best Regards,

The Shadowchaser
