The fact that it wasn't sold in the first round doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the car. Could just have been unrealistic reserve price. It's always difficult to properly assess the value of a car that has been repaired from a collision. I'm principally not against buying a collision damaged car, if the price is right - and depending on the purpose of me buying the car.

i'm guessing it was a month or so ago, maybe more... i did see this particular car up for auction -- same pictures, etc.

the "saw this auction about a month ago" part. If this particular 7 was previously on auction without success, then there's definitely something fishy about that salvage title.
