Tried to open my hood today. When I popped the hood release, and lifted the lever in the grill, it seemed to move to the end of it's travel without releasing the latches. Anybody else experienced this?

How the heck will I get this thing open without using a can opener?

Have someone hold the lever while you lift the hood or put something under the lever in the open position. This has worked for me.
