My predicament:

I have been getting threatening letters from the parking violations bureau in NY regarding this car that has numerous unpaid parking tickets and penalties. Unfortunately, this car in question (in default) had the same plates, registration expiration, color and make as my previous one. How can this be?

I turned the plates in to DMV 7 months prior to the first offense of "this car" and have the surrender receipt at hand.

And do you know how these lawyer-written letters sound like? They are out to destroy me and my future.

I have copies of the parking tickets showing the locations of the offenses. I have never been there and I don't own the car either. But same data of my previous car though.

Does anyone know how to win this case? Anybody with the same problem?

When they say tow and prevent possible prevention of renewal registration, do those refer to all the cars in your possession? Or just the car in question? If it refers only to the car in default, the heck with it.

Thanks in advance.
