Limited help here, but seeing that you come from an M3 background, you are probably familiar with the Conforti name.

The current chip of choice for the E38 is the Dinan, but I recently corresponded with Jim C. and he told me that his E38 chip will be out Spring 2002, so I am waiting until then...(though I have nothing against Dinan, have one in my E28 in fact).
