In reference to your question about washing the engine bay and hugh-pressure water. It's very simple, don't use high-pressure water at all. THere are so many electrical connections that you don't want water to enter, so be careful. I wash the engine bay with a soapy water and soft brush, and rinse off with running water at very low pressure, almost a tricle of water only. Then I dry it with paper towl or or other towl that doesn't leave residue. Start your engine right afterwards so the heat will take care of leftover water and humidity.
