Of course they offer six cylinders in Europe...gas is very, very expensive there. It's not because they are better, it's because they cost less.

So if you want to save money on gas and repairs, get a six. If you want power, get an eight.

Would you buy a 7 with a six if offered in North America? I'll bet not.

I agree, if I wanted a six, I would have bought a 5 series even with the reduced room.
I do have a six cylinder Porsche Boxster, It has at least as much of get-up-and-go as my 740iS.
