The phone is designed to turn on/off with the ignition. If you turn the phone off with the ignition on, then turn the ignition off, the phone will stay off until powered on manually.

If your problem is that the phone is turning on/off randomly, I'm not sure what the problem could be. Maybe a loose connection below the armrest? It is very easy to check - if you need instructions, let me know & I will provide them.

Also, check to make sure you are not accidentally hitting the power button with your elbow! The keypad can be locked by pressing the # & * buttons simultaneously.
