My CD changer, for my 98, recently died. I went to the stealer and they wanted $800.00 for a replacement. I had the player repaired at an electronics/Stero shop for $160.00. All I had to do was to pull it out and reinstall it.
Saved 620.00. It's a great day.

One of my CD mags got stuck in my changer today. When I removed the unit from the car to free the stuck magazine, I heard something rattling around inside. Further disassembly revealed a single ball bearing loose inside the case. While putting the covers back on, another ball bearing fell out. While I am no mechanical engineer, I know that this is not a good thing. Hence my question, does anybody have a 6 disc cd changer that is compatible with a 95' 740i with DSP.
If not, how much can I expect to pay at the stealer for a new unit. (I cringe at the thought!)

Thanks,
Greg
