Call Waiting and the TimePort phones. (archive)

I have been reading a previous post which relates to Call Waiting on the Motorola TimePort phones which were standard on the 740il I purchased in August 2001. The problem is that the user/driver cannot answer a call waiting without picking up the phone in the center console cradle and by doing this disabling the hands free speakers, and mic. I have been able to personally test the Mercedes Benz (they use the same TimePort phone), and their system is able to perform the task of answering a call waiting from the steering wheel. This makes me think that maybe BMW could modify their software to allow this to happen. Does anybody know if BMW has, can, or is going to perform this modification? I have called the Customer Service number several times and the last time the person who answered the phone assured me she would check into this and get back to me. She also indicated that I am not the first to call about this problem. It has been about 2 (two) weeks since I called.

Thanks,

Byron...
