Sounds great John, go for it and keep us updated on progress. I want to upgrade to the scalloped headlights and new front turn signals as well, but I doubt the wife will go for it this lifetime...

WIFE/BOSS: "What?! You just got the white lights and wheels already!"

ME: Yea yea yea...

I have wanted to do the facelift upgrade to my 98 but the cost of new headlight assemblies was more than I wanted to spend on it. I researched which parts are different between the 98 and the 99+ headlights and trims, and then ordered the parts (@ $130.00 not including side lenses) to see if they fit. They arrived today and they all fit onto the 98 headlight housings. I will complete this project over the next few weeks, (time available) and post some photos of the process.

The parts needed for this upgrade are: headlamp glass covers (actually plastic), lens frames which are the round chromed parts inside the housing, the brackets that hold the scalloped trim under headlamps, the scalloped trim under headlamps, and side lenses(clear preferred). Of course I will need to have the gap filled in under the side lenses once the upgrade is done, but by doing my own headlight upgrade, I saved enough $$ to convine myself and the wife this was not too crazy, but she knows and I know I am obsessed!
