Leaks...

All,

FYI, since we've seen a few complaints posted about leaks. The Feb issue of Bimmer magazine, page 46, noted that the engine has proven "problematic...we're now seeing phantom coolant leaks, oil pump bolts coming loose and causing oil starvation, oil leak problems that are expensive to repair,
and failures of the oil separator on the back of the intake manifold. Goes on to say that none of these are catastrophic, but you must catch them early. Coming from a magazine devoted to BMWs, this was good, frank info.
